The classroom should be simply decorated and not overdone in the beginning of the school year. Students feel more connected to the classroom if they take part in the decorating. Many times teachers feel as if they need to have the entire classroom covered in decorations from ceiling to floor, by the first day of school. This could overwhelm and overstimulate the students.
